里山

「里山」は鹿児島県志布志の農業法人さかうえの提唱する循環型農業です。
地域の課題だった耕作放棄地に牛を放牧飼育し田畑を再生する取り組みです。
その過程で害獣問題やアニマルウェルウェアなど多くの社会問題にもアプローチしています。
パッケージデザインでは「里山」の仕組みを象徴化しています。
ダンボールなどのパッケージを回転させると牛、猪、とうもろこし等イラストが変化していき
耕作放棄地という地方農家の課題を解決しながら農業を循環させていく里山の取り組みを表現しています。
またロゴ・イラストレーションはそれ自体がアイコンやマークのように見えるシンプルな表現をにしており
今後ピクトグラムのような使用も想定に入れたデザインになっています。

“Satoyama” is a circular agriculture initiative proposed by the agricultural corporation Sakaue, based in Shibushi, Kagoshima.
The project revitalizes abandoned farmland, a long-standing regional issue, by grazing cattle to restore the land’s fertility.
Through this process, the initiative also addresses broader social challenges such as wildlife damage and animal welfare.
The package design symbolizes the system of Satoyama itself.
When the cardboard packaging is rotated, the illustrations transform—revealing cows, wild boars, corn,
and more—expressing the cyclical nature of agriculture and the effort to regenerate rural farmland.
The logo and illustrations were designed with a simple, icon-like quality, allowing them to function as pictograms in future applications,
reinforcing Satoyama’s visual identity as both a brand and a movement.
